Spring is here and new horses in the stable!

Flora getting ready for some riding in the woods.

Beautiful weather today again. I just love the spring. It brings me so much energy and positive feelings. I enjoy seeing how much the horses like when we get to go out riding in the woods.

Have a good week!

What a place!!

The cosy restaurant at Aino.

Garden catch (Calido I x Rocky) 8 years old gelding for sale:

We had the show on the weekend in the place called Aino. What a place. Its so nice with a restaurant  from where you can follow the warm up and the competition ring and its just the nicest indoor competition place I've ever seen in Finland so far. The sport is growing here and we need places like this to grow whit us.

Both horses where so good and jumped all clear rounds accept for one round with Calle where he had one time fault. the horses are developing so much and they really feel like quality jumpers. That makes it fun to work with every day. Calle was a bit shy the first day and was looking at all the surroundings but jumped easily anyway. Second day he was much more relaxed. Flora was as she always is quite fresh and she can bock a bit but the jumping is always super! i think she is going to be  a real fighter in the end.

Right now I'm sitting on the couch with Fille planing our honeymoon. But I must say this hotel jungle is not my favorite thing ;)

Have a good evening!

Show coming up.

Its not too bad to have a little flu sometimes ...

Eilen hyppäsin Callella ( Garden Catch, Calido I x Rocky) ja Floralla (Sandro Girl, Sandro Boy x Cordalme).

Alla on muutama lyhyt video pätkä eilisestä.

Hyvää viikonloppua teille!

Yesterday I jumped Calle ( Garden Catch, Calido I x Rocky) and Flora (Sandro Girl, Sandro Boy x Cordalme). We are leaving for a show at the weekend. The show is at a quite new place called Aino, it is near by Helsinki. I haven't been there yet but from what I´ve heard and seen on pictures it looks just amazing! Its a big asset for our riding sport in Finlad to get to use a place like this!

Underneath is some short videos from yesterday, hope you like it.

Have a good weekend!

Training video from today.

Sain tänään tehtyä uuden treeni videon. Päivän vinkki on puomi harjoittelu, jonka näette videossa.

Rolle isn't such a morning person ;)

I love when I sometimes remember to make me breakfast <3

I did a new training video today. Yes, all by my self. Sins my sister got a job and doesn't have the time to help me with that anymore. Sucks for me rules for her :)...
Todays training tips is training on cavalettis and poles on a circle, like I do on the video. Its not that easy to ride on a circle. You'r horse may not turn when you want it to, it may not shorten or longen the stride when you want to. And I find its not as easy to recon as with poles on a circle. You should  have a certain distance between the poles and always try to ride over the middle of the pole.
In the video you will se how I ride the distance in between the poles with five strides. If my horse strays to the out side the five strides will be too long and if he strays to the inside, the five will be very short. Its the same thing in the course. If you see a good distance to the fence already from far away but your horse doesn't follow the way you planned in your head, then you will be either to far away or to close... Thats why you should always care where your horse goes when you sit on. There is never a moment when you don't teach your horse a thing. The horses language are your actions, remember that.

Happy trainings!

Herves clinic

A photo posted by jmtimgren (@jmtimgren) on

Eli viimeviikolla Ypäjällä oli Herve Godignonin kurssi tiistaista torstaihin. Sandro Girl eli "Flora" tuntui todella hyvälle. Me harjoiteltiin paljon basic juttuja ja saatiin tosi hyvää tulosta aikaiseksi.

Last week was very inspiring. Herve was here from Tuesday to Thursday. I participated with my 7 year old mare called "Flora" (her real name is Sandro Girl), she is after  the stallion Sandro boy x Cordalme.
We practiced a lot of basic things with super results.

A lot of balancing the horse directly after the jump and then relaxing again. Also we practiced to lift up Floras neck a little (sins she is a bit low in her natural position) and that gave me a totally new feeling of what she is capable of. Some times its good to have someone kick you in the ass to try a bit harder and better. I can't wait to see how she will do in our coming shows.

Have a good week!
