Training over trotting poles.

Ravipuomit on hyvä harjoittelu.

Itse laitan yleensä 3-6 puomia peräkkäin 110cm välein. Kun olen ravannut molemmissa kierroksissa pari kertaa yli puomeja niin nostan joka toisen pään ylös kannattimille.

Tämä treeni on hyvä kaikenlaisille hevosille.

-Laiska hevonen joutuu etenemään ilman että ratsastaja tarvitsee puristaa pohkeilla.

-Kuuma hevonen joutuu odottamaan, ja keskittymään.

-Hevonen joutuu itse ajattelemaan minne jalkojensa laittaa. 

-Jäykkä hevonen joutuu jalkoja nostellessa venymään enemmän kuin normaalisti.

Itse harjoittelin ravipuolmeilla ja innareilla tänään kaikilla. Katso video ja näe miten Olli pärjäsi.

Toinen super hyvä puoli (varsinkin laiskoilla tai jäykillä hevosilla) on se että kun on harjoitellut ravipuomeilla niin takajalat aktivoituu ihan itsestään ja hevonen on paljon kevyempi ratsastaa.

Trotting poles is a good training for all kind of horses.

I usually lay the poles with 110cm in between and normally use 3-6 poles after each other. After a few rounds of relaxed trotting over the poles I lift every second side of the poles up in the cups. 

Poles are good for all kind of horses.

-The slow and lazy horses will have to move forward by them selves and without the rider pushing.

- Hot horses need to slow down and really concentrate on what they are doing.

- A stiff horse will have to bend while lifting the legs higher than he normally would. 

I practiced over trotting poles and in-and-outs with all horses today. Watch the video to see how Olli did!

The good thing with this is also that (specially with slow or stiff horses) the training activates the back legs and the back without the rider really doing anything and the horse gets lighter to ride.

When I almost...

Kun asiat eivät mene niin kuin suunnittelit. Minulla oli niitä hetkiä. Kun olin Belgiassa ja kaikki hevoset olivat jotenkin rikki tai ei vaan toiminut. Tuntui siltä että miksi minä jaksan raahautua tallille, tehdä töitä ja treenata kun ei mikään tunnu auttavan. 

Päätin kirjoittaa tästä koska vaikka muuten elämä hymyilee niin hevospuolella on vähän motivaatio ongelmia kun kaikki ei nyt ihan tunnu  menevän nappiin. Mutta tällä kertaa tiedän enemmän.

Olin niin kyllästynyt kaikkeen joten päätin lopettaa. Muutin Suomeen (Fille oli myös aika iso syy ;)). Olin kolme kuukautta "normi" duunissa ja huomasin että joka aamu puoli tuntia sen jälkeen kuin olin saapunut paikalle niin aloin katsomaan kelloa että milloin pääsen pois täältä. Joka päivä minä mietin hevosia ja unelmoin millaista se voisi olla. 

Tajusin että en ole ikinä katsonut kelloa,  millon pääsen kotiin tallilta. Tajusin miten paljon rakastan työskennellä hevosten parissa ja tajusin miten paljon minä halusin KISOIHIN!

Nyt tiedän että haluan tehdä tätä loppuelämäni. En koskaan anna periksi! Se oli minulle todella opettavaista. Opin itsestäni enemmän ja tiedän että vaikka kuinka paljon tulisi vastoinkäymisiä niin "that's life". Ja tilanne voi aina olla huonommin. Tämä elämän tyyli tekee minut onnelliseksi. Se on minusta kaikista tärkein asia!

When things doesn't work out as planed.

I had those moments. When I lived in Belgium, it seemed that all my horses where injured or something else. I started wondering about why I bother dragging myself to the stable every morning, training and working my ass of when nothing seems to do.

I decided to write about this now because even if life is good otherwise, the horse part is in lack of motivation. Not everything is going as planned (if you know what I mean). But nowadays I know better.

I was so tired of everything that I decided to quit. I moved back to Finland (Fille was also kind of part of the reason ;)). I worked as a "normal" person for three months. But I noticed that after the first half hour I was checking my watch all the time to see when I could go home. Everyday In my mind I was with the horses and was dreaming of how it all could be.

That was the moment for me when I realized that I had never looked at my watch to see when I can get home from the stable. I realized how much I loved working with the horses. And I realized how eager I was to do shows again!

Now I know that I want to do this for the rest of my life. I'm never going to quit! That was very instructive times for me. I learned a lot about my self and now I know that when bad times hit you, that's just life. And it can always be worse. This lifestyle makes me happy and that's all that matters.

Amazing night!

Nyt on juhlittu. Lauantaina oli meidän häät. Kaikki meni loistavasti! En nähnyt Filleä ennen kun astuttiin "alttarille". Kyllä jännitti mutta samalla olin niin iloinen. 

Minulla on vain muutama kuva vielä mutta kunhan saan loput lupaan laittaa lisää niitä tänne.

Fille ja minä olemme niin kiitollisia meidän kavereista ja perheestä. Sillä ilman niitä meillä ei olisi ollut näin ihana päivä!! Iso hali teille! 

Tuntuu ihan oudolta kun en ole ratsastanut yli viikkoon. Haluan takaisin hevosen selkään! Huomenna sitten heppojen parissa vietän ihanaa päivää.

Niin ja se uusi hevonen Calle on myyty ja sai uuden ihanan kodin! Tsemppiä Annelle ja koko tiimille!

M iladies <3

On Saturday we had our wedding. It was so much fun! I didn't see Fille the whole morning until we stepped on the "alter".  I was very nervous but at the same time so happy! 

I just have a few photos, but I promise to upload more of them as soon as I get more. 

Fille and I are both so lucky to have such awesome friends and family who helped us with all the preparations before the wedding. With out these guise it would have been impossible! Big hug to you!

It feels so strange to not have been riding for over a week. I just want back on the horse. Tomorrow I will spend the day with my horses :). 

Oh and meanwhile the new horse Caligula has been sold and now has a new lovely home. All the luck to Anne and the whole team!

I was so happy to get this painting from Suvi!!! The best Vaillant! I still think of him nearly every day <3. It for shore has a place in the new stable when it's ready!

My dress was designed by me and made by the super talented Sari Lindell. I was so happy with it and would recommend everybody to contact her if you are planning your own dress!

Last night...

Viimeinen yö ennen häitä. Jänskättää jo pikkaisen. On ollut pitkä päivä ja en malta odottaa huomista! Nyt nukkumaan.

Last night before the wedding. I'm a bit nervous already. It has been a long day and I can't wait untill tomorrow! Now it's bed time.

Salossa minun kilpailu päätty siihen että tipuin. Loukkasin olkapääni niin että en voinut jatkaa kilpailuja. Nyt käsi lepää mitellassa. Mitään luita ei ole mennyt poikki joten sehän on plussaa. Katsotaan miten se lähtee paranemaan. Häät ovat ensiviikolla ja sitä ennen en ratsasta yhtäkään hevosta!

Little Ronja so happy to be outside after a car ride.

In Salo the show ended with me falling of. I injured my shoulder so that I couldn't keep on riding. Now I have a mitella to keap it still. There are no bones broken, so that's good news. Lets see how fast it starts to heal. The wedding is next weekend and I'm not going to ride a horse before that!

Which higher powers wants to sabotate our season?!?

Eilen kävimme näyttämässä Onnia Jan Grevelle. Eikä ollut mitään hyviä uutisia. No, hyvä puoli on se että sillä ei ole mitään hurjan vakavaa mutta näillä näkymin ei ainakaan kilpailla ulkokaudella enään. Harmittaa, harmittaa todella paljon! Mitkä ylemmät tahdot haluavat tätä meidän kilpailu kautta sabotoida?!? 

Kaikki se työ jota laittaa tähän niin tää on tulos. Mutta ei sille voi mitään, eikä asiat parane suremalla... Jo Vaillantin poismenon jälkeen minä päätin että minähän en anna periksi. Sama pätee myös nyt. 

Mutta vaikka kuinka itsepäisesti jatkaa ja tekee duunia niin valitettavasti niitä hyviä hevosia ei taivaalta satele. 

Kolmen viikon päästä näytetään sitä uudelleen ja silloin nähdään miten se on alkanut paranemaan. Pitäkää peukkuja Onnille <3

Yeasterday we showed Onni to Jan Greve who is here ones a month. He had no good news. As it looks now we are not going to be able to participate at shows this outdoor season anymore. Annoying, I'm so annoyed but what can you do, that doesn't help a thing. Which higher powers want to sabotate my season!?!

When Vaillants passed away I decided not to give up. And I still feel like that. But the sad thing is that no matter how much time and energy you put in to this sport, the good ones doesn't fall from the sky. 

After three weeks we show him to Jan again and will know more. Keep your thumbs up <3

Two though days!!

Minulla oli ihana vapaapäivä tänään. Kaverini Mikaela on kylässä. Ronja oli toista päivää päiväkodissa ja oli taas viihtynyt todella hyvin. Mikaela ja minä päätettiin sitten lähteä Turkuun kun täältä Westankärristä ei kestä sinne kuin 40 min. Syötiin hyvin ja hengailtiin muuten vaan...  Ihanaa välillä vaan olla ilman mitään suunnitelmia.

I had a lovely day off. My friend Mikaela is visiting. Ronja went to kindergarten for the second day in a row and she loved it again! So Mikaela and I decided to drive in to a bigger town called Turku. It is such         a lovely and cozy town. We ate good stuff and just chilled out. It's so nice to sometimes just have nothing special planned...
