Walk On has arrived and Pokerface is getting his poker face on!

Tänään on ollut kiireinen päivä. Lensin aamulennolla Belgiaan ja päivä onkin mennyt mukavasti ratsastaen :) Kaikki hevoset voivat hyvin täällä ja fiilis on tosi hyvä. Tänään lähdetään Juulia Jyläksen tallillle missä meillä on Herveen maajoukkuevalmennukset. Odotan niin innolla että pääsen Vaillantin kanssa hyppäämään Herveen valmennuksissa. Hervehän on ihan legenda (!) joten saadaan varmaan paljon uusia ideoita ja varmasti huippuhyvä valmennus tiedossa.

Uusi kaveri Walk On tai kotoisasti Onni, on saapunut ja olen niin ihastunut siihen hevoseen. Sillä on aivan mahtava luonne ja se on super kiltti. Luulen että tämän hevosen kanssa meillä tulee olemaan tosi hauskaa.

Meidän nuori oma kasvatti Pokerface kehittyy tosi kivasti ja kouluratsastaja Niccolina Oscarsson on sitä nyt ratsastanut kun en itse ole kotona, Pokesta tulee vielä hieno kouluhevonen. Niccolina ratsastaa Pokella kolme kertaa viikossa, muuten sitä ratsastaa kotona meidän tallilta Marika. 

 Luulen että siitä tulee oikein kiva kouluratsu jollekin! Pokerfacen isä on Hirtentanz. Hirtentanz taas on Terhi Stegarsin vanhasta oriista Axiksesta. Eli ihan koulusukua. Hirtentanz on siis estehevonen itse mutta suku on koulu painotteinen. Emä Florenz on taas Florestan I:sta joka on kans pääasiassa periyttänyt kouluhevosia. Kun valitsimme aikoinaan oria Florenzille halusimme monipuolisen orin jossa on sekä koulu- että estesukua joten sen takia päädyttiin Hirtentanziin. Ja tosi kiva monipuolinen hevonenhan siitä tuli. Hyppää kivasti ja liikkuu kivaasti.

Today has been a busy day. We flew with Ronja with the morning flight to Belgium. When I arrived I rode all the horses at home. All the horses are doing good and here is a really good vibe at the stable. Today we are off to Juulia Jyläs place, where we are having Herves training tomorrow. I'm very excited about the training for Herve, he is after all a legend in showjumping. Can't wait to get to jump Vaillant for him. I think we are going to get a lot of new ideas and have a great training. Exciting!

New horse Walk On or Onni as we call him has now arrived as well. So happy about this horse, he has great personality and is so kind. Think we are going to have a lot of fun with him! 

Our own breed horse Pokerface who is at home in Finland is developing really nicely. Dressage rider Niccolina Oscarsson has been riding him now three times a week, now when I'm away and then Marika from the stable takes care of the rest of the days. I think he is going to become a really nice dressage horse.

Pokerface is from the stallion Hirtentanz, who again is from Terhi Stegars dressage stallion Axis. Hirtentanz is a showjumper himself even if he is actually from dressage bloodlines. Pokerfaze mom Florenz (my old showjumper) is from Florestan I who also was a dressage stallion. When we looked for a stallion to Florenz we were looking for a stallion with talent in both show jumping and dressage because of Florenz breed, and didn't turn out so bad I think! Pokerface is a really nice horse, with his strengths on the dressage side but still with a nice jump.

A new man in my life!

Ollaan vietetty rauhallista viikonloppua perheen ja hyvän ruuan kera. Saarelta ollaan tultu wetankärille ja nyt pötköyellään sohvalla ja katsotaan leffaa. Keskiviikkona lähdemme Ronjan kanssa taas matkaan. Ensin Belgiaan ja sitten torstaina ja perjantaina Juulia Jyläksen tallille missä maajoukkuevalmentaja Herve Godignon pitää treenit meille. 

Mutta isoin uutinen tänään on se että tiimimme on tullut uusi super hevonen. Walk on on Vilma Catanin entinen hevonen jonka hän on itse kouluttanut korkealle tasolle ja nyt sillä on luvassa uusia haasteita minun kanssa. Olen todella innoissani siitä. Walk on on 11 vuotias ruuna joka on hypännyt 140 tasolla. Se on todella varovainen mutta rohkea, joten toivottavasti osaan ratsastaa sitä parhaalla mahdollisella tavalla. Vilma on jo tehnyt hyvän työn sen kanssa. 

Saan ottaa kolme hevosta mukaan treeneihin ja otan, Vaillantin, walk onin ja en ole vielä päättänyt otanko celtasin vai Rexin, katsotaan.. 

Uusi tulokas otetaan mukaan myös Geesterenin kisoihin jotka ovat kahden viikon päästä. En malta odottaa!!! 

Fille tulee mukaan ajamaan Geestereniin joten hän saa tällä kertaa nähdä Belgian tallii. Se on kiva koska itse aina puhun siitä mutta Fille ei ole päässyt näkemään sitä vielä.

                 Vilma and walk on

       Our house almost finished, yay!

We have spent a relaxing weekend. We have been at Bergön (the island) and now where at Westankärr. Chilling on the sofa and watching a movie. In Wednesday Ronja and me are leaving to Belgium. And Thursday, Wednesday we are at Juulia Jyläs place where the Finnish team coach Herve Godignon is training us.

But the big news today is that we have a new super horse in the stable! Walk on is Vilma Catanis former best horse whom she has taken up to the higher level. I'm so exited about this horse and hope he will do good with me aswell. Walk on is a 11 year old gelding who has done classes on 140 level. Vilma has done a good job schooling him.

I'm allowed to bring 3 horses with me to the training. I'm taking Vaillant, walk on and the third one, I don't know yet if it's going to be Celta's or Rex, let's see ..

The new member is going with me to the show in Geesteren In two weeks, can't wait to start him there!!! 

Fille is driving with us to Geesteren so he's going to see the stable in Belgium, finally! I always talk about it but he's never seen it.

Training and raining

Tällä viikolla ollaan tehty kaikkien valmennettavieni kanssa sama treeni, alhaalla kuva miltä se näytti. Treeni sopii täydellisesti juuri näin kesken kisakautta kun pitää saada ratarytmiä alle mutta silti hevosten täytyy toimia ja olla avuilla. Tämä treeni ylläpitää hyppyteknikkaa ja on samalla vähän jumppaa ja pistää hevosta ajattelemaan. Linjat voi rakentaa isoiksi jotta saadaan sitten vähän massaa rataan. Ollaan hypätty linjaa n. 10cm korkeamalla tasolla kun mitä ratsukko hyppää kisoissa. 

Okserit rakennetaan kulmasta ulos kaarevalla linjalla sarjalle, etäisyys 21m ja sarjan esteiden välissä n. 7m. Sarjan välissä on sitten maapuomit jotka saavat hevoset tarkkaavaisiksi. Keskimmäinen pysty ollaan vielä rakennettu selvästi isommaksi kun ensimmäinen ja viimeinen pysty jotta keskellä tulisi vähän isompi hyppy ja hevoset eivät hosuisi sarjan sisällä. Pitkillä sivuilla meillä oli pysty okseri linjat joissa oli 28m välit. 

Tämä on hyvä treeni ja sopii kaiken tasoisille ratsukoille. Treeni opettaa ratsastamaan hyvällä rytmilla ja kun saa rytmin pysymään tasaisena koko radan läpi niin ollaan lähellä täydellisyyttä:) Tehtävä kehittää myös ratsastajan silmää koska on niin systemaattinen.

Meille kuuluu muuten hyvää ja Ronjan kanssa on mennyt tosi hyvin kisoissa. Olen hänen kanssaan aina kun en ole hevosen selässä ja kun ratsastan niin Fille useimmiten vahtii häntä, isä-tytär laatu aikaa :) Otan kyl tän äitinä olemisen aika iisisti, yritän elää sillä periaatteella että Ronja on tullut mukaan meidän elämäämme eikä toisin päin, ja on tähän asti toiminut tosi hyvin. Täytyy olla vähän joustavampi ja systemaattisempi kun aikasemmin ja se määrä kamaa mitä tarvii ottaa mukaan kun matkustaa lapsen kanssa on ihan älytön mutta kyllä siihenkin tottuu :) Huomenna mennään katsomaan Evitskogiin kisoja kun valmennettavani kilpailee siellä.

This week we have been doing the same training with all my pupils. You can see at the picture what we have been doing. The training is perfect now in the middle of the competition season when you want to jump a full track but still keep the horses on your aids. It trains a bit technique and is a bit gymnastic at the same time and keeps the horse alert and in a good rhythm.

The lines you can build a bit bigger so that you get the height and feeling you need to to ride at the show. We have been jumping with everyone the lines about 10 cm higher than the level they are riding at the show.

You build the oxers out of the corners in to the combination with 21m in between into a three combination that has 7m in between the verticals. We have also had poles in between the verticals and had the middle vertical clearly higher tan the first and last fences in the three combination. On the long side we have had oxer - vertical lines with 28m in between.

It is a very good training that suits all riders no matter on which level. The task trains you to ride with a good rhythm and helps developing the riders eye. When you do this training in perfect rhythm you will be close to perfection.

With us and Ronja everything is good. It has been working very well with her at the shows. When I have been riding Fille has been taking care of her having so dad-baby quality time. I'm taking this being a mom pretty easily. I like to think that she has come into our lives not the other way around and that makes you keep on doing what you have been doing before, probably in a other way but still doing your own thing. And I feel that this is really working for us. I feel that I have become more systematic and flexible than before and it takes a bit more planning when traveling with a baby. And the amount of stuff you need to have when traveling with a baby...OMG.

Tomorrow we are going to the show in Evitskog to watch my pupils compete.

Home sweet home!

Kivaa olla kotona ja ihanaa että saa olla täällä nyt kokonaisen viikon. Lennän ensi viikon keskiviikkona vasta takaisin Belgiaan, joten nyt onkin aikaa nauttia kotona olemisesta. 

Vaillant on päässyt hyvin takasin kotiin Belgiaan ja saa nyt ottaa vähän kevyemmin tämän viikon kun olen Suomessa. Meillä on ensi viikon torstaina Herve Godningnon valmennus Juulia Jyläksen tallilla, joten ennen sitä ei tarvitsekkaan ottaa mitään hyppyjä.

Kävin eilen vielä Hollanissa katsomassa yhtä hevosta mistä  olen kiinnostunut joten saa nähdä miten sen kanssa käy. Kerron heti jos asia etenee!

Tänään olen pitänyt valmennuksia ja huomenna olisi pari lisää. 

Aion nyt nauttia siitä että voi olla samassa paikassa vähän pidempään ja että ei tarvitse tällä viikolla enää lentää minnekään vauvan kanssa.

So nice to be home in Finland again. I get to be here now until next weeks Wednesday when I fly back to Belgium. 

Vaillant is doing great and the trip back home to Belgium went well. He is going to have an easy week now when I'm away and then we have Herve Godningon's training next weeks Thursday at Juulia Jyläs place. 

I went to look at a horse in the Netherlands yesterday that I'm interested in, lets see how it goes.. I will let you know if it works out!

Today I have been having some trainings and tomorrow I'll have some more.

It is going to be so nice to be able to stay at one place now for a whole week ... and not have to sit in an airplane with a baby :) Even though Ronja does travel well.

Amazing weekend!

Vautsi mikä viikonloppu! Ei voi muuta sanoa. Vaillant oli niin stara, kyllä minä tiesin että se on hyvässä vedossa mutta en kyllä ollut kuvitellut että meillä menisi näin hyvin jo heti alkuun! Tämähän oli vasta toinen kansainvälinen kisa synnytyksen jälkeen. Ja saatiin kvaali MM:iin josta olen tosi iloinen :)

Ehdittiin vielä Fillen kanssa juhlia vähän Gdanskia eilen ja käytiin syömässä ehkä paras pizza ikinä. Lento kotiin oli tänään aamulla joten jäätiin yöksi lentokentän hotelliin. 

Nyt ollaan Westankärrissa ja nautitaan menestyksestä ja hyvästä seurasta, tarkoitus on pitää ekat grillijuhlat tälle vuodelle.

Gdansk nightlife!

What a weekend!! Vaillant was such a star! I knew he was in shape, but I could never have dreamt that it would go so well as it did! Especially already now, it was after all only our second international show since my break. And we got one qualification result for the WEG! So happy!

We had time to celebrate a little with Fille in Gdansk and had probably one of the best pizzas ever. We stayed overnight at the airport hotell and took the early flight home to Finland today. Now we are at Westankärr enjoying the success and great company, we are going to have the first barbecue party for the year today as well.

Vaillant hyppäsi tänään uskomattoman hyvin ja olitiin kolmansina Sopotin gpssä! Oltiin yksi neljästä tuplanollista. Luokassa starttasi 56 ratsukkoa. Tosi iloinen :D!!

Vaillant jumped fantastic today and we ended up on the third place in the gp of Sopot. We where one out of four dubble clear rounds after 56 starters. I'm super happy :D!!
